Summer Building for Habitat

Rotarians partnered with members of the Isle of Palms Exchange Club and Habitat for Humanity to help Krista and her son Jaden build a permanent home for their family. Charles Muldrow, Mike Bloser, and Stephanie Bates worked diligently to install the laminate flooring in the family room and kitchen all while being supervised by Dick Bennington who was in charges of the precision cuts for the flooring planks. Dimi Matouchev and Ryan Corder were once again tasked in moving material, this time it was the limestone rocks for the new driveway. Once that job was done and after a short water break they were tasked with some framing work for the neighboring house. Isle of Palms Exchange Club Members Patrick and Barby Harrington helped with the stain on the front porch as well as painting the columns white. What a great Saturday to put service above self by teaming up with other great community service organizations to put a roof over the heads of an amazing family. Thank you to all who helped in this endeavor. But don’t put away those work gloves for too long – our next Habitat For Humanity work days will be November 19th, 2016 and April 8th, 2017.
