The East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club will welcome Jennifer Berry Hawes as our guest speaker Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Jennifer is a projects writer for The Post and Courier who worked on the Pulitzer Prize-winning team that produced “Till Death Do Us Part.” During her 15 years at the newspaper, she has focused on reporting about health care, religion, education, and human interest stories. During that time, she has won numerous national awards and has been named the South Carolina Journalist of the Year twice, most recently last year. Today, she focuses on covering the aftermath of the Emanuel AME Church shooting and is writing a book with St. Martin’s Press about how the massacre has impacted the families, survivors, and Charleston as a whole. She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband and two children where you’ll usually find her cheering at baseball and volleyball games.
