Congratulations to Stephanie Bates for taking on the position of President of the East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club for 2017-2018. Stephanie joined the Club in 2013. However, she grew up with Rotary in her life as her father was a Rotarian for many years. She went to many meetings with him, rode on the Rotary float in their town parade, and participated with him in fundraisers. Stephanie’s father instilled in the lesson of community, not only are we apart of this world, but it is our duty to give back and make it better. When the time was right in her career and life to give back, she knew what organization she wanted to be apart of.. Rotary International.
Stephanie is a farm girl from the small town of Gleason, Tennessee. She graduated from Brevard College with a liberal arts degree in Music. She then received an MBA from the Citadel in 2009.
After a career in Banking, Stephanie decided to put her financial and management skills to use in a different type of business. This past year, she joined the ServiceMaster of Charleston team as the Commercial Division Manager. She enjoys helping Lowcountry businesses maintain their offices, hospitals, banks, and hotels for superior appearance for their clients. Through her job, she is a part of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) chapter in Charleston.
She remains active in the community by also serving on the Steering Committee for Women United, Trident United Way, and on the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center Advisory Council.
Time away from community and work is spent traveling and enjoying food and live music. She loves spending time with her boyfriend, Andy, and their dog, Stono.
