Mr. Sandoval received his credentials and badge as a Special Agent (SA) of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) after completing Basic Agent Academy training.  He has investigated heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, and club drug distribution in northern New Mexico. He has also  investigated the most prolific and powerful Mexican drug cartels.  In 2006, he was deployed for over a year to Afghanistan and developed US judicial cases against major drug lords providing financial support to the Taliban.  He transferred to DEA’s office in Istanbul, Turkey where he conducted drug and money laundering investigations of transnational criminal organizations operating in as many as ten countries.

In May 2016, SA Sandoval transferred to the Charleston Resident Office of DEA’s Atlanta Field Division.  He currently leads a law enforcement task force from departments across the low country of South Carolina.  Since arriving in Charleston, Mr. Sandoval, community advocates, and law enforcement partners have founded a grassroots movement entitled “Wake Up: Carolina” which is resolved to end substance abuse in the community.
