Congratulations to Earl Rigler and Larry Schey for earning their blue badges last Tuesday. Earl is a retired attorney who joined the Club last September. He and his wife, Linda, have six children and 5 grandchildren. Larry transferred to our Club in February from Athens, Ohio where he was a member of Rotary and owned several auto dealerships. He and his wife, Dorothy, have two daughters. We are overjoyed to have these two fine gentleman join the East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club and bring with them their experiences, talent, and compassion for others.

We are happy to introduce our newest member, Larry Schey who is tranferring from the Rotary Club of Athens, Ohio where he was a member since 1990.  Larry was born in Cleveland, OH, and lived in several small towns in Northern OH.  He moved to Detroit after grad school, then Boston area, Hartford, CT, then back to OH where he lived in Athens for 25 years. He moved to Mount Pleasant in 2015 and resides in Hamlin.

Larry graduated from Duke University with an accounting degree.  He became a CPA and worked in the tax department at Arthur Andersen in Cleveland, then attended Harvard Business School. He then worked for Ford Company in Detroit, first in Product Planning then in Boston District Sales Office.  Larry then became Assistant General Manager at a large Ford, Saab, Isuzu dealership in Hartford.  Next he bought a Chrysler, Dodge, Nissan dealership in Athens, OH, which he later sold. He then bought a Chevrolet dealership in Athens.  After selling it, he and his wife, Dorothy Relyea Schey, decided to move to Mount Pleasant.

Larry and Dorothy have been married for 36 years. They have two grown daughters: Leila is an Architect and currently lives and works in London, UK, and Andrea is a Manager at Michael Kors on King Street and has lived in Mount Pleasant for over four years.
