chsmoves-m1For the June 23rd meeting, we will welcome Kurt Cavanaugh of Charleston Moves as our speaker.  Kurt relocated to Charleston from New York City for the opportunity with Charleston Moves. He most recently served as Deputy Director of the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn (OSA), a park conservancy organization responsible for maintaining and enhancing North Brooklyn’s (Williamsburg, Greenpoint & Bushwick) 100-plus parks, playgrounds and green spaces. Kurt’s experience includes extensive work with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, NYC Department of Transportation, NYC Department of City Planning, and NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. A Michigan native, Cavanaugh is a graduate of Guilford College and earned an MS in Urban Design & Park Management from the University of North Carolina.

Charleston Moves is a nonprofit organization working to enhance conditions for biking and walking in Charleston County. Since its inception in the 1990s as the Charleston Bicycle Advisory Group (CBAG), Charleston Moves has been an advocate for positive change.
